4:00 Meet in lobby for neighborhood walk, grocery shopping, Market Savvy
5:30 Seine stroll, Notre Dame (Cathedral open until 6:45), tour Ile de la Cite, Survival French lessons
7:45 Dinner at casual creperie in Latin Quarter
8:45 Walk Latin Quarter and surrounding historic area
Day 2 – Sunday
8 – 10 a.m. Open House Breakfast by Lola Lunch at leisure
1:15 Meet in the hotel lobby
1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Private Paris Overview with local guide
6:30 Meet in lobby – Walk Across Pont Neuf, tour Ile de la Cite, Place Dauphine Journaling workshop in Place Dauphine Dinner (TBD)
Day 3 – Monday
Depart Paris by train for Bordeaux
Tour Bordeaux by foot and light rail
Dinner in the Old City of Bordeaux
Overnight in Bordeaux hotel
Day 4 – Tuesday
Drive through Bordeaux wine country
Tour and lunch in historic village of St. Emilion
Arrive Gascony in time for dinner
Day 5 – Wednesday
Tour tiny villages of Mezin, Fources and Nerac
Shop at country market for dinner ingredients
Taste wine and cook dinner in on-site cooking class
Day 6 – Thursday
Painting lesson at the moat in Larrisingle
Picnic lunch
Brocante shopping
Dinner at La Francesca, celebrated Gascon restaurant
Day 7 – Friday
Visit and shop in Agen
Train to Paris
Evening at leisure
Suggestions: Stroll Rue de Buci, St. Germaine area; ride metro to Montparnasse, have wine at Café Flore, Duex Magots or Le Precope
Day 8 – Saturday
FREE DAY!
8:00 Dinner in small groups
Day 9 – Sunday
10:15 Board Metro for Les Marches aux Puces (flea market)
12:15 Lunch (On your own in St. Ouen) Recommendation: Paul Bert
Activities to be determined. Often, we will find special concerts being performed in historic churches.
8:00 Final Night Dinner at Les Bookinistes (Optional, please reserve.) We’ll top off our visit at the historic “baby bistro” by the Seine, created by celebrated chef Guy Savoy. Just a few paces from the hotel.
Day 10 – Monday
8 – 10 a.m. Coffee or breakfast with Lola
Stop by Lola’s room to say “au revoir.”
Please settle up any incidental expenses with the front desk by 10 a.m.
Lola must leave at 10:30 for a quick train trip to the South of France, so she will not be in the lobby to see you off.
11:00 Check–out time
11:30 Van picks up Lola’s friends for drive to airport.
